Geumcheon District to Hold "Gender Equality Week Commemorative Event" on September 3
Geumcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) announced that it will hold the "2025 Gender Equality Week Commemorative Event" on September 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the main auditorium of the Geumcheon District Office. This event is being organized in celebration of Gender Equality Week (September 1-7) to promote the values of gender equality and a culture of respect, as well as to recognize and encourage those who have contributed to advancing gender equality.
The event will proceed in the following order: experience booths, celebratory performances, a commemorative ceremony, and a special lecture by a distinguished guest. From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., a variety of experience booths will be available for residents, including a gender equality slogan plaster air freshener workshop, an AI-based deepfake prevention quiz, a gender equality awareness improvement campaign, and a gender equality OX quiz. The celebratory performances will feature the Geumcheon District Senior Choir and the Geumcheon Senior Line Dance Team, who will help enliven the atmosphere.
The main commemorative ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. In the first part, five individuals who have contributed to spreading a culture of gender equality will be awarded certificates of recognition. In the second part, Dr. Lee Donghwan, a specialist in family medicine, will give a special lecture on "Mind and Body Energy Management for Happy Women." In addition, during Gender Equality Week, a "Gender Equality Commemorative Photo Wall" will be installed in the first-floor lobby of the district office, allowing residents to take commemorative photos and share in the meaning of the event.
