Presenting Innovative Solutions to Social Issues in Digital News Among Youth
The Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Dongmyung University (President Lee Sangcheon) and Kansai Gaidai University in Japan jointly held the "1st Korea-Japan University Students' Idea Exchange Event Utilizing Generative AI" on August 28 at Dongmyung University's campus.

View original imageThis exchange event was co-organized by Professor Lee Jeongki of Dongmyung University and Professor Kang Kyungsu of Kansai Gaidai University. The theme was "Solutions to Social Issues Arising from Young People Using Digital News."
The event drew attention as an opportunity for young people from both countries to share different perspectives and present innovative ideas.
The event was moderated by Professor An Jiyeon of Dongmyung University's Department of Advertising and Public Relations, with interpretation provided by student Lee Jihyun (currently on leave, fourth year). Participating students actively utilized generative AI to prepare their proposals and translated their presentations into both languages, deepening the exchange.
The grand prize was jointly awarded to students from both universities. Kim Junyoung and Lee Sujeong from Dongmyung University were honored for proposing an "online diagnostic tool that helps users clearly recognize filter bubbles."
Sora Kyogoku and Aoi Yoshino from Kansai Gaidai University drew attention by presenting an "experiential program (You See No Bubbles But Yours) that encourages participants to constantly question and reflect on their own beliefs." The prize winners received the Dean's Award from Dongmyung University's College of Media.

Lee Jeongki, head of Dongmyung University's Department of Advertising and Public Relations, said, "Through this exchange event, students were able to gain experience analyzing problems and proposing solutions from various perspectives," adding, "We will further expand exchanges with Kansai Gaidai University to enhance our students' problem-solving abilities."
