The group visited Saebit Christian Child Care Center in Nam-gu, Busan, and households of elderly people living alone to provide home repair and care services. Around 20 members refurbished aging facilities at the child care center, including wallpapering, repairing ceiling leaks at the entrance, and reinforcing stair railings and door thresholds. For the elderly households, they assisted with replacing flooring, wallpapering, and kitchen repairs.

Technology Credit Guarantee Fund also participated in this volunteer effort. During the home repair period at the child care center, students and staff supported education and care by organizing field trips and experiential activities for the children.

Since 2006, Pukyong National University has been conducting residential environment improvement volunteer activities during vacations for 20 consecutive years, supporting repairs for over 100 households so far. Volunteer recipients are selected through recommendations from local governments, and this year, by expanding care services in collaboration with local organizations, the university is creating a model for mutual growth within the local community.

Kim Geunhee, a sophomore in the Department of Nursing and a member of the volunteer group, said, "Although it is a hot summer, I feel a great sense of fulfillment knowing that our small efforts are giving strength to our neighbors."

During this summer vacation, the volunteer group has also been leading various social contribution activities, such as sorting recyclables, mentoring at-risk youth, and volunteering for senior citizens, taking the lead in realizing the UN SDGs and contributing to the local community.
