Korea Venture Investment Co-Publishes "Startup Fundraising"
Joint Publication by Mashup Ventures and Startup Alliance
A Comprehensive Guide to Startup Fundraising
Insights from Founders and Investors for the Evolving Startup Ecosystem
On August 28, Korea Venture Investment, Lee Taekkyung, CEO of Mashup Ventures, and Startup Alliance announced the joint publication of "Startup Fundraising: A Funding Guide from a Founder-Turned-VC."
"Startup Fundraising" is an investment guidebook centered on real-world cases, offering perspectives from founders, investors, policy agencies, and other members of the startup ecosystem.
The book provides a detailed explanation of the entire fundraising process, from a founder's decision-making to post-contract stages. It includes practical advice that is rarely accessible, such as the experiences of senior entrepreneurs, important considerations during fundraising, and insights from investors.
The book was first published in 2021 and provided valuable support to many founders at the time, being distributed for free as a PDF online. This time, the decision was made to officially publish it in order to reach a wider audience.
It is currently available for pre-order at bookstores nationwide, both online and offline, with the official release date set for September 3. The sales proceeds will not be allocated to the co-authoring organizations. This revised edition has been significantly updated to reflect changes and new trends in the startup ecosystem as of 2025.
Korea Venture Investment has participated in the project from the planning stage as part of its efforts to promote entrepreneurship. As the operator of the Mother Fund and a public investment institution, it has systematically organized the structure and flow of the investment ecosystem that founders must understand, drawing on its accumulated investment experience and expertise.
Through this, the aim is to help alleviate the challenges founders face in raising investment from venture capital firms, accelerators, and other investors.
Lee Taekkyung, who co-founded Daum Communications in 1995 and led it to a public listing, now heads Mashup Ventures. Drawing on his experience as both a founder and an investor, he offers practical and realistic fundraising strategies.
Startup Alliance is a nonprofit public interest corporation that supports the growth of Korea's startup ecosystem and strengthens global competitiveness. With a comprehensive perspective on the ecosystem, it provides vivid, on-the-ground information based on member networks and field experience.
