Raon Meta (CEO Lee Soonhyung), a company specializing in generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based metaverse platforms, has signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Collaboration on Metaverse-Based Practice Content" with YST (CEO Jeon Youngsaeng), a company specializing in immersive content development.
Through this partnership, the two companies plan to contribute to fostering specialized talent in the future mobility sector and address the limitations of practical training in educational settings. "Metademy" users will be able to learn about key systems of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrids (HEV), system components and operating principles, and the structure of high-voltage batteries through customized, field-oriented curricula.
According to the "2024 Automotive Industry Workforce Survey" by the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, workforce shortages in the future mobility and parts sectors account for 61% of the total workforce shortage in the automotive industry. The analysis points out that the training of professionals in the electric vehicle sector is lagging due to education focused on internal combustion engines and limited hands-on training environments. Raon Meta expects that this agreement will help close this gap and simultaneously meet the needs of both educational institutions and the industry.
"Metademy" has expanded its B2B-focused practical training courses, including the world’s first laboratory animal autopsy content, nursing skills, and physical therapy, into the B2C sector, and has broadened its content into various fields such as industry, medicine, healthcare, and basic sciences. With multilingual support, the company has laid the foundation for global expansion, and with the addition of electric vehicle practice content, it plans to extend its services to educational institutions such as automotive vocational high schools and technical colleges.
Students who complete the curriculum for each practical content module in the "Metademy" service can receive a certificate that incorporates "OmniOne Badge," Raon Secure’s credentialing platform, which can be used as proof of qualification for various purposes, including education and employment.
YST possesses expertise and know-how in producing high-quality immersive content using technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR), and plans to enhance the utility of educational content through AI-based content development technologies. Raon Meta aims to further elevate content quality through its collaboration with YST and proactively respond to the growing demand for educational content across various fields.
Yoon Wonseok, Head of the Meta Academy Business Division at Raon Meta, said, "Through this collaboration, we expect to present a practical alternative for hands-on education in the future mobility sector and contribute to talent development. Moving forward, we will continue to expand the content lineup of the Metademy service by collaborating with companies on various metaverse-based practical content, establishing ourselves as a leader driving innovation in the field of hands-on training."
