This agreement is the result of discussions held during the visit of AVL's senior management to Pohang in July, which have now led to concrete outcomes.
AVL is a world-leading technology company headquartered in Austria, pioneering research and development as well as testing and evaluation in the mobility industry. The company possesses unrivaled technological expertise, especially in the fields of hydrogen fuel cells and testing equipment.
Under the agreement, Pohang City and Pohang Technopark will cooperate in various areas, including ▲hydrogen fuel cell technology development and testing and evaluation ▲information exchange and consulting on domestic and international certification systems ▲promotion of joint industry-academia-research-government projects within the Pohang Hydrogen Specialized Complex.
Pohang City expects that this agreement will accelerate the establishment of a global hydrogen technology certification system and the integration with local industries, providing an opportunity for Pohang to emerge as a world-class hydrogen city.
Additionally, Pohang City plans to regularize exchanges with AVL, benchmark AVL's hydrogen fuel cell test centers, and expand joint research and development (R&D) projects. The city will also strengthen the industry-academia-research collaboration network involving local universities, research institutes, and companies to ensure the rapid application of research outcomes in the industrial field.
