On August 26, the NC Cultural Foundation announced that it will host the '2025 Areumjigi Academy' in collaboration with the Areumjigi Foundation from September 6 to 27.
The Areumjigi Academy is an educational program dedicated to the preservation and transmission of traditional culture. This year's theme is 'Cultural Heritage in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Connecting Past and Future through Digital,' with a focus on in-depth exploration of various fields where technology and tradition intersect.
The academy consists of two online keynote lectures and four offline lectures. The offline sessions will be held every Saturday during the program period at the NC Cultural Foundation's underground space (Studio Black). The lecture topics are: 'Crafts Embracing Technology' (Session 1), 'Interactive Heritage in Museums' (Session 2), 'Technology Bridging Everyday Culture' (Session 3), and 'Digital Restoration as an Alternative in Historic Architecture' (Session 4).
At the NC Cultural Foundation's second-floor exhibition hall (Studio White), a free exhibition titled 'Heritage Connected by Technology: The Most Human Future' will be held in conjunction with the academy. The exhibition will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the program period. It will be closed every Monday.
Further details on academy registration and exhibition viewing are available on the NC Cultural Foundation website.
