The fire siren tower located in Jeongokri served as an emergency alarm during fires and disasters, as well as a noon-time signal siren, for 25 years starting in 1977. It is currently the only remaining model in the country and has been recognized as an important resource for understanding the firefighting environment and technology of that era.
Additionally, the building of the former Jeongok Volunteer Fire Brigade, where the fire siren tower is installed, has served as a hub for voluntary firefighting activities in the local community. After its designation as a local heritage site, a historical archive will be established there, and it is planned to be developed into a major firefighting tourism attraction in northern Gyeonggi Province.
