Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone Authority Holds 1st Corporate Field Tour
Visiting Panasia, a Leading Smart Factory Company,
with the Resident Companies Association
On August 25, the Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sungho) held the '1st Corporate Field Tour' with representatives from more than 20 resident companies. The event aimed to help companies overcome worsening business conditions caused by increasing domestic and international uncertainties through mutual learning and cooperation among resident firms.
Honorary Chairman Yang Jaesaeng (CEO of Eunsan Shipping & Air), Vice Chairman Kim Younggu (CEO of Halla IMS), and Secretary General Hwang Soyong (CEO of DH Tech), among others, attended the corporate field tour.
Participants strengthened the foundation for trust and collaboration through inter-company exchanges and networking, which included watching promotional videos, touring a smart factory, engaging in Q&A sessions on production processes and management know-how, and sharing information. This collaborative system was established to seek joint solutions even in an uncertain business environment.
The first company visited during this field tour was Panasia, led by Lee Sutae, Chairman of the Resident Companies Association. Panasia is an industry-leading company specializing in eco-friendly facilities, located in the Mieum Industrial Complex within the Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone.
Panasia is the first in the shipbuilding equipment industry to operate a pilot smart factory. Over the past five years, the company has achieved an average annual sales of 240.7 billion KRW, with exports accounting for 90% of this amount, demonstrating its global competitiveness.
The company is pursuing a fully autonomous manufacturing plant that utilizes AI-based robots and smart equipment throughout the entire production process. Panasia continues to invest in alleviating labor shortages, improving labor productivity, realizing customized production for clients, reducing industrial accidents, and enhancing quality consistency.
Such innovative efforts are regarded as providing resident companies within the free economic zone with a direct learning opportunity to experience the future of manufacturing.
Lee Sutae, CEO of Panasia, stated, "I sincerely welcome and thank the representatives of the Resident Companies Association for their visit. I look forward to overcoming difficult business conditions together through close communication and cooperation in the future."

Commissioner Park Sungho said, "We plan to operate customized corporate field tours on a quarterly basis, tailored to the characteristics of different industries and company sizes, so that this field tour does not remain a one-off event. We will also support resident companies in addressing their current challenges by offering training and forums on key topics such as smart factories, digital transformation (DX), ESG management, and eco-friendly production. Furthermore, we will systematize and disseminate the best practices of participating companies throughout the entire free economic zone."
