Namwon City to Host 'Dongpyeonje Gugak Street Festival' on September 13

A Festival Showcasing the Past, Present, and Future of Korean Traditional Music
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will host the 11th Dongpyeonje Gugak Street Festival on September 13 at the Hwangsandaechupbi Monument site and Jeongjamaru area.
According to the city on the 22nd, this festival is expected to serve as a meaningful stage that continues the tradition of Dongpyeonje pansori, showcases the present of Korean traditional music, and opens up possibilities for its future.
The first part, the Jeongjamaru Concert, will take place against the backdrop of Jirisan Mountain and will feature a variety of performances blending tradition and modernity.
This stage will feature artists such as Won Nagyeong, Jang Seoyoon, Byun Sangyeop, Lee Minhyeong, the Sorikkot Gagyeokdan, Jung Eunhye, and Kim Insu, who will deliver the pure and profound resonance of gugak, fully conveying its charm to the audience.
The second part, the Sori Yeoljeon Super Concert, which will illuminate the Hwangsandaechupbi Monument site, is the highlight of the festival and will present a large-scale stage where audiences can experience the essence of Korean traditional music.
