Signs Business Support Agreement with the City

Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province has achieved another milestone by attracting a cutting-edge drone company, following the establishment of a drone testbed.

On August 21, Icheon City signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Aeroares Co., Ltd., a company specializing in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and anti-drone technology, to support the activation of the drone industry. The signing ceremony took place at the Daol Room in City Hall. Aeroares possesses core technologies such as UAV component manufacturing, counter-drone response systems, and wireless communication systems.

The company plans to secure a 700-square-meter site in Icheon and invest over 5 billion KRW to relocate its headquarters and technology department from Seoul, thereby expanding its business operations. In addition, the company aims to launch specialized training programs in collaboration with the Icheon Drone Startup Support Center and to promote technology-based startups.

Icheon City has established a drone demonstration testbed along the Cheongmicheon area, leveraging its geographical proximity to military-related institutions such as the Army Intelligence School. The city has also set up a Drone Startup Support Center. Aeroares intends to utilize this infrastructure to shorten technology development periods and enhance product quality.

Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "We will provide unwavering support to strengthen our competitiveness as a drone-specialized city and to create a future where both businesses and the local community can grow together."
