Park Sangchul Elected as 8th President of the Korea Singers Association
Singer Park Sangchul has been elected as the 8th president of the Korea Singers Association.
On August 21, the Korea Singers Association announced, "In the presidential election held the previous day in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Park Sangchul was elected with 128 out of 228 votes." His rival candidate, Choi Yoona, received 100 votes.
Park Sangchul will assume office immediately after the current president, Lee Jayoun, completes her term next month. The term of office is four years. His campaign pledges included reviving Singers' Day, revitalizing the association's YouTube channel, strengthening performance capabilities, and establishing a one-on-one mentoring system between senior and junior singers.
The newly appointed board members are Hyundang, Kang Hye-yeon, Park Sangmin, Geum Jandi, Kim Heejin, Okhee, Peterpan, and Shin Yoo. The election results will be finalized on September 3 after the objection period.
