Coding Classroom for the Earth:
A Program Integrating Environmental Awareness and Digital Education for Children
Shinhan Life announced on the 20th that, in collaboration with ChildFund Korea, it held the "Coding Classroom for the Earth" program for about 190 children from low-income and multicultural families during the summer vacation.
This program was designed to help children who are likely to fall into care blind spots during the vacation period have meaningful learning experiences. Shinhan Life supported 14 facilities for children and youth in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions. To enhance children's interest in learning, the program differentiated itself by offering integrated ecological transition education that combines digital education with proactive awareness of environmental issues.

The content was designed to provide coding education opportunities to children unfamiliar with the digital environment, helping to bridge the digital divide and foster creative problem-solving and logical thinking skills.
The children explored various environmental issues and participated in activities where they implemented their own ideas through coding based on what they learned. Along with gaining an understanding of digital technology, they also developed environmental awareness and social inclusion, enabling them to grow as members of a sustainable society.
