Hanam Secures 1.8 Billion KRW Special Grant with Support from Choo Mi-ae and Kim Yongman
On August 18, Hanam Mayor Lee Hyunjae announced at the weekly meeting, "Through close cooperation with local National Assembly members, we have secured a special grant tax of 1.8 billion KRW from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the first half of 2025." He added, "I would like to thank Assembly members Choo Mi-ae (Hanam-gap) and Kim Yongman (Hanam-eul) for actively communicating Hanam's urgent issues and cooperating with us."
The special grant tax secured this time will be allocated to five key projects aimed at expanding urban infrastructure and enhancing citizen convenience and safety. Specifically, these include: ▲ Installation of an elevator at Gam-il No. 1 Overpass (400 million KRW) ▲ Construction of a pedestrian bridge over Mangwolcheon (600 million KRW) ▲ Installation of two public restrooms at Waterfront Park No. 2 in the Gam-il District (400 million KRW) ▲ Remodeling of Neutinamu Park (200 million KRW) ▲ Installation of fixed CCTV cameras for illegal parking enforcement in child protection zones (200 million KRW).
First, an elevator will be newly installed at Gam-il No. 1 Overpass, which officially opened this year. This project aims to improve pedestrian convenience for those with limited mobility and enhance the completeness of the transportation infrastructure.
In addition, a new pedestrian bridge will be constructed over Mangwolcheon in the Misa District. Due to recent heavy rains raising water levels, complaints have been received about the inconvenience of using the existing stepping stones and arch bridge. In response, Hanam City plans to provide a safe and efficient pedestrian path near 1073 Mangwol-dong.
Furthermore, two new public restrooms will be built within Waterfront Park No. 2 in the Gam-il District to improve convenience for users of sports facilities and the park. Neutinamu Park will be transformed into a more community-friendly space through the renovation of rest facilities and walkways.
Child safety will also be strengthened. Fixed CCTV cameras will be installed in child protection zones such as Open Children’s House, Gam-il Kindergarten, and Sangok Elementary School to enhance enforcement against illegal parking and are expected to help prevent traffic accidents involving children.
