From August 19 to September 2, Park will visit early morning farming sites in Geumsan-eup, Geumseong-myeon, Gunbuk-myeon, and Chubu-myeon on four occasions to hear directly from farmers and seek pathways for the future of agriculture.
On the first day, he visited a green onion hydroponic farm and an apple mango farm in Gunbuk-myeon, inspecting agricultural sites struggling due to worsening weather conditions and changes in the distribution environment.
The farmers expressed concerns about increasing crop damage caused by severe heat waves and abnormal weather each year, as well as the growing management burden resulting from rapidly fluctuating agricultural product prices and an unstable distribution structure.
During the remaining schedule, Mayor Park will visit other agricultural sites such as cherry farms, flower farms, and seedling nurseries.
Mayor Park stated, "We will further enhance agricultural competitiveness through the modernization of agricultural materials, the development of climate-resilient crop varieties, and the high-quality branding of Geumsan's premium agricultural products." He added, "To ensure that the hard work and dedication of our farmers are not in vain, we will actively reflect their voices in county policies and establish practical and sustainable support measures at the county level that farmers can truly feel."
