Yangju City Appoints Kwon Seongjun as Symphony Orchestra Conductor: "Will Strive for Cultural City Advancement"
On August 18, Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province held an appointment ceremony for the new conductor of the Yangju City Symphony Orchestra and officially appointed Kwon Seongjun as the new conductor. The ceremony was attended by key figures such as the orchestra manager and representatives of the members.

View original imageConductor Kwon Seongjun graduated from the Detmold University of Music and the Dresden University of Music in Germany. He has performed at the Bielefeld City Theater and the Neustrelitz State Theater.
In Korea, he has collaborated with the Korea National Opera, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra, Jeju Provincial Symphony Orchestra, and Goyang City Choir, among others. He has also taught at universities including Yonsei University.
After the appointment ceremony, Yangju Mayor Yang Suhyun held a meeting with conductor Kwon Seongjun to discuss the direction of the orchestra's operations and strategies for advancing local culture and the arts.
Conductor Kwon Seongjun stated, "I am deeply honored to lead the Yangju City Symphony Orchestra, the only city symphony orchestra in northern Gyeonggi Province. I will strive to present high-quality performances to citizens and help Yangju grow as a cultural city."
Mayor Yang Suhyun expressed, "I expect that conductor Kwon Seongjun's experience and passion will be a great asset."
