Small Enterprise and Market Service to Conduct Survey on Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts
Traditional Market and Shopping District Survey
to Be Conducted Nationwide Until October 17
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service announced on August 18 that they will conduct the "2025 Traditional Market·Shopping District Population and Integrated Survey" over the next three months to comprehensively assess the current status of traditional markets·shopping districts.
The survey will be conducted until October 17, targeting representatives of merchants in traditional markets·shopping districts nationwide, as well as approximately 300,000 store owners operating businesses in these areas.
The survey for merchant representatives will mainly cover general information about the markets·shopping districts, organizational structure, facilities, fire prevention, and firefighting equipment. For store owners, the survey will focus on business status and store services. This year's survey will also include alley-type shopping districts, which are expanding nationwide. New questions, such as the intention to introduce smart ordering systems within the next year, have been added to assess the current situation.
The survey results will be published on the official Small Business 24 website and the National Statistical Portal, and will serve as foundational data for future policy support and development. All responses will remain confidential in accordance with Articles 33 and 34 of the Statistics Act.
