On August 15, Kang Hyunseok, Deputy Mayor of Uijeongbu City, visited sites affected by the recent heavy rainfall together with the Director of the Administrative Safety Bureau and relevant department staff. He listened to residents' concerns regarding the damage and instructed related departments to take swift action.

View original imageOn this day, Deputy Mayor Kang visited the Howon 1-dong Community Center to encourage employees who were on emergency duty despite the holiday. He also met with citizens, including community leaders, whose homes had been flooded, listened to their difficulties, and immediately responded to a request for pump support on-site.
In addition, he visited a flooded commercial area located under Hoeryong Station in Howon 2-dong to hear about the damage. He checked the Singok 1-dong drainage pump station to review additional flood prevention measures and finally inspected the site of soil runoff in Sanggok-dong to assess safety measures and recovery progress.
According to Uijeongbu City, a total of 212mm of rainfall was recorded in the area during the heavy rain that continued from August 13 to 14. As a result, damages such as flooding of homes and commercial buildings, sewage backflow, and road flooding occurred. The city is carrying out emergency restoration work while also conducting inspections and taking measures to prevent further damage.
