The Namyangju City Council (Chairman Seongdae Jo) attended the 80th Liberation Day Commemoration Ceremony and Peaceful Unification Prayer Citizen Walking Event held at Iseokyoung Square on the 15th.

View original imageThis event, organized by the Namyangju Chapter of the Korea Freedom Federation, was held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, to reflect on the significance of liberation, and to create an opportunity for unity with citizens. More than 1,000 people participated, including Vice Chairman Lee Jeongae and other city council members, Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, heads of institutions and organizations, provincial council members, and citizens.
The first part of the ceremony included the introduction of guests, the opening and national ceremony, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, and the Manse Samchang (three cheers for independence). In the second part, after a car phrase warm-up exercise led by the Namyangju Sports Council, the walking event took place.

The significance of Liberation Day is a spirit of the times that we must never forget, and I hope today's walking event will be a meaningful time to honor and remember the noble sacrifices and values of our patriotic forebears."
