Gyeonggi Office of Education to Hold "Eulji Exercise" from August 18-21, Including Wartime Administrative Structure Training
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will conduct the "2025 Eulji Exercise" from August 18 to 21, 2025.
The Eulji Exercise is a nationwide training program implemented to protect national security and safeguard the lives and property of citizens in the event of a national crisis. It is conducted to comprehensively assess the country's crisis management capabilities and its ability to respond to total war scenarios.
Starting with an emergency assembly for all public officials at dawn on August 18, the Office will transition to an emergency work system and proceed with training on organizing wartime administrative structures.
During the Eulji Exercise, the Office will conduct power cut and emergency generator operation drills to prepare for sudden power and water outages. It will also provide training on wearing gas masks and using alternative equipment such as raincoats and rubber boots for chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) protection. Additionally, practical drills will be held to simulate situations that may occur during wartime, including an anti-terrorism drill at Goyang Jichuk Elementary School.
In particular, to address changes in the current era, the Office will prepare for emergencies by holding discussion-based training sessions with experts on maintaining wired and wireless communication networks and alternative or bypass communication methods in case of network disruption. For the first time, the control team will conduct a training exercise that collaborates with artificial intelligence (AI) to generate scenario messages.
The Office will also create a space to raise security awareness for visitors and staff, providing opportunities to experience essential items for emergency evacuation, view civil defense equipment exhibits, and participate in security quizzes and other hands-on programs.
In addition, during the Eulji Exercise, the Ministry of National Defense Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification will host an "Excavated Remains and Relics Exhibition" on the first floor of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Southern Office. This exhibition is intended to commemorate the significance of the project to recover the remains of soldiers who died during the Korean War and return them to the nation and their families, and to honor the noble spirit of the patriotic heroes who sacrificed for the country.
