Busan Office of Education Announces Regular Personnel Appointments for 302 Staff Effective September 1

Kwon Hyukje Appointed as Director of the Education Bureau
New Directors Named for Six Education Support Offices
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on August 14 its regular personnel appointments, effective September 1, for a total of 302 individuals, including administrators and educational professionals at kindergartens, elementary, and secondary schools.
In this round of appointments, 126 administrators at kindergartens and elementary schools, and 99 secondary school administrators have been newly assigned. Among kindergarten and elementary school principals, 56 were appointed, including 38 through promotion, transfer, reappointment, or open recruitment, and 18 through reassignment. For vice principals, 70 were appointed, including 29 through promotion or transfer and 41 through reassignment.
Among secondary school principals, 57 were reassigned, including 39 through promotion, open recruitment, transfer, or reappointment, and 18 through reassignment. For vice principals, 42 were appointed, including 35 through promotion or transfer and 7 through reassignment. Additionally, 32 kindergarten and elementary education professionals and 45 secondary education professionals received appointments through promotion, transfer, or reassignment.
Key leadership positions were also filled. Kwon Hyukje, principal of Busan Science High School, was appointed Director of the Education Bureau. Lee Malsook, principal of Busan Girls' High School, was appointed as Director of the Western Education Support Office; Byun Sangdon, principal of Seongnam Elementary School, as Director of the Southern Education Support Office; Choi Kyeongi, principal of Myeongjin Middle School, as Director of the Northern Education Support Office; Ryu Gwanghae, Director of the Education Support Bureau at the Southern Education Support Office, as Director of the Dongnae Education Support Office; and Kim Sunryang, principal of Minrak Elementary School, as Director of the Haeundae Education Support Office.
In addition, Yoo Youngok, Head of the Secondary Training Division at the Education Training Institute, was appointed as Director of the Education Research and Information Institute; Heo Namjo, Head of the Elementary Education Division, as Director of the Education Training Institute; Park Eunhye, principal of Namil Middle School, as Director of the Student Arts and Culture Center; Yoon Eunkyung, Head of the Elementary Training Division at the Education Training Institute, as Director of the Children's Creativity Education Center; and On Yunju, principal of Dongyang Middle School, as Director of the Academic Development Institute.
