Supporting Dokdo's Protection and National Heritage Preservation
1% of Savings Principal Donated by NACUFOK for Heritage Conservation
On August 14, the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK) announced the launch of the "Credit Union National Heritage Eobuba Savings Account" to mark the 80th anniversary of Korea's Liberation Day. This product aims to support the protection of Dokdo, a symbol of Korea's territorial sovereignty and a national heritage site.
Since 2020, NACUFOK has partnered with the National Heritage Administration to carry out various projects for the protection of national heritage. The newly introduced "Credit Union National Heritage Eobuba Savings Account" allows customers to contribute to heritage preservation simply by opening the account, without any additional burden. Upon maturity, the Credit Union Social Contribution Foundation will donate an amount equivalent to 1% of the principal to support national heritage protection.
The funds raised through this product will be used to improve living, historical, and cultural spaces for Dokdo residents, as well as to protect the local ecosystem.
The product applies the one-year maturity regular installment savings interest rate as announced by credit unions nationwide. It is available to individuals, sole proprietors, and corporations (organizations). Monthly deposits can range from 10,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW, and each person is limited to one account.
Additionally, all account holders will receive the same benefits as Boram Members of the National Trust for Cultural Heritage (an affiliate of the National Heritage Administration) for one year from the date of account opening. Boram Member benefits include: ▲ Free admission to the four major Joseon palaces-Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, and Deoksugung ▲ Free admission to royal tombs such as Jongmyo and Donggureung ▲ Free or discounted admission to properties preserved by the National Trust for Cultural Heritage.
The "Credit Union National Heritage Eobuba Savings Account" can be opened at any credit union branch nationwide or through the ON Bank mobile banking app. For more details, visit any credit union branch or contact the customer service center.
