Hapcheon County to Host the 20th Su-ryeo-han Hapcheon University Freshman and Sophomore Football Federation Tournament
15-Day Tournament from August 17 to 31
60 University Football Teams to Compete
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it will host the "20th Su-ryeo-han Hapcheon University Freshman and Sophomore Football Federation Tournament" for 15 days from August 17 to 31. The matches will take place at the Gunmin Sports Park Artificial Turf Field, Yongju Field, and the Public Stadium.
Hosted by the Korea University Football Federation and co-organized by the Korea University Football Federation and the Hapcheon County Football Association, this year's tournament will feature 60 university football teams from across the country. The teams will compete fiercely for the top spot in university football, divided into the "Jukjuk Janggun Cup" (30 teams) and the "Hwanggaram Cup" (30 teams).
The tournament will begin with group stage matches, followed by a knockout stage from the round of 16 to the final. The champions of the Jukjuk Janggun Cup and Hwanggaram Cup will be determined in the finals held on August 30 and 31, respectively.
To prevent a decline in players' performance due to the heat, all matches will be held in the evening. The finals will take place on the natural grass field inside the Public Stadium. In addition, an MVP will be selected after each match to encourage active participation from the players.
County Governor Kim Yuncheol stated, "It is meaningful for Hapcheon to host the University Football Federation Tournament, which is the most prestigious university football competition. Hapcheon County will spare no effort in supporting the athletes so they can fully showcase the skills they have honed for this tournament."
