Gyeonggi Province Launches Task Force for Response Strategies to Lee Jaemyung Administration's National Policy Tasks
Gyeonggi Province will operate a dedicated task force (TF) for "Response Strategies to National Policy Tasks" in order to reflect the 123 national policy tasks of the Lee Jaemyung administration.
On August 14, Gyeonggi Province announced plans to actively respond by identifying the details of the 123 national policy tasks, discovering related provincial projects, and developing detailed implementation strategies as well as strategies for securing national funding linked to these policy tasks.
The response strategy task force will be led by Ko Youngin, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs, and will center on the relevant departments responsible for each national policy task. A real-time monitoring system (Planning and Coordination Office + Central Cooperation Headquarters) will also be in operation.
This task force has been established to develop provincial implementation strategies in line with the new administration's direction for each national policy task and to proactively ensure that Gyeonggi Province's policies and needs are reflected when each ministry formulates its specific action plans.
Previously, Gyeonggi Province proposed key regional issues to the National Policy Planning Committee, including: ▲ Three Major Future Growth Projects (establishment of a K-Semiconductor Mega Cluster, creation of a Climate Tech Cluster and RE100 transition, support for private investment in AI computing centers and designation as a leading AI special zone); ▲ Five Major Citizen-Oriented Policies (Aging in Place (AIP) programs, Caregiving SOS Project, pilot program for a 4.5-day workweek, support for overseas study and domestic/international employment and entrepreneurship, climate insurance and climate action points); ▲ Three Major Regional Development and Balanced Growth Tasks (railroad undergrounding and expansion of metropolitan railways, creation of bio and venture clusters, and special compensation for special sacrifices in the Northern Great Development initiative).
Ko Youngin, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "It is important to thoroughly analyze the new administration's national vision and identify proactive actions that Gyeonggi Province can take," and added, "We must select core projects to be pursued in connection with the national policy tasks and continue to strengthen cooperation with the central government to ensure these are reflected in each ministry's implementation plans."
