Dongwon Group announced on August 14 that To Lam, the top-ranking General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, visited Dongwon Global Terminal Busan (hereinafter referred to as DGT), located at Busan New Port, and had a meeting with Chairman Kim Namjung.
General Secretary Lam is the highest-ranking national leader in Vietnam, having been unanimously elected by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in August last year. Lam and his delegation visited Korea to promote friendship and economic cooperation between Korea and Vietnam. During their visit, they toured DGT, a fully automated port, and held discussions with Dongwon Group Chairman Kim Namjung.

View original imageIt is reported that General Secretary Lam and his delegation visited DGT to benchmark the core technology and advanced operational expertise of Korea's first fully automated smart port. The Vietnamese government is actively investing to make the container port industry a key driver of national economic growth and to develop Vietnam's ports into a logistics hub for Northeast Asia.
Dongwon Group has a strong connection with Vietnam. Since 2015, the group has operated two local subsidiaries, and both Dongwon F&B (food) and Dongwon Systems (can manufacturing and flexible packaging materials) have been increasing their exports to Vietnam each year.
Dongwon Group's global subsidiaries, TTP (Tan Tien Packaging) and MVP (Minh Viet Packaging), supply flexible packaging materials and PET products to Masan Group, Vietnam's largest comprehensive food company. With production facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and other locations, these two subsidiaries are expanding exports not only within Vietnam but also to the North American market, including the United States and Canada, and supply packaging materials to multinational companies such as Unilever.
