In addition, parents actively expressed their satisfaction by requesting a winter camp, thereby demonstrating the high level of the camp's operation.
This elementary native English camp, organized as part of the Special Education Development Zone project under the 8th popularly elected Gimpo City administration with the goal of enhancing global competencies, was held at the 2nd Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Tongjin-eup from August 4 to 8, targeting 22 elementary school students.
The camp focused on creating an environment where students could naturally use a foreign language by assigning a native English instructor and a Korean assistant instructor to each class. To ensure parents could trust the safety of their children, a variety of safety personnel were deployed, including commuting guides, an on-site nurse, and operational support staff. Additionally, meals were provided that took into account each student's individual allergy concerns.
A Gimpo City official stated, "Following the elementary native English camp in the Northern Region, English camps will also be held in the Central and Southern Regions. The city will do its utmost to discover and expand capacity-building programs so that Gimpo's children can grow into future leaders."
