The main content of the amendment is to require prior approval from the city council when disposing of assets funded by the city. The goal is to ensure transparency and accountability in the disposal of public assets, thereby faithfully achieving the original intent and purpose of the corporation's establishment and contributing to the welfare of citizens.
Kwon Bongsu stated, "Given the corporation's founding purpose and the council's original approval of the project, public interest should be the top priority. However, this was not sufficiently considered during the corporation's unilateral project change. Through this amendment, I hope to establish clear standards for the use and disposal of city-funded assets and to strengthen the management and oversight functions of both the city and the council, so that the benefits can be returned to the citizens."
