Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 12 that, at the "7th Gyeonggi Premium Hanwoo Beef Evaluation Contest 2025" held in Yongin City on August 8, farmer Jung Woongjin received the Encouragement Award, while Gapyeong Livestock Cooperative's Jatgoeul Hanwoo won the Brand Award.

View original imageThis contest was hosted and organized by the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of Nonghyup Agribusiness Group and sponsored by the Gyeonggi Province Animal Disease Control and Sanitation Division. Hanwoo farmers affiliated with city and county brand management organizations (local livestock cooperatives) across the province participated in the event.
A total of 49 farms and 54 cattle from across Gyeonggi Province took part in the contest. From Gapyeong County, Jung Woongjin received the Encouragement Award in the premium beef category, and Gapyeong Livestock Cooperative's "Jatgoeul Hanwoo" won the Brand Award in the outstanding brand category.
Jung Woongjin is a breeding specialist who has been engaged in continuous brand projects and Hanwoo cow testing projects for about 30 years. The farm was recognized for excellence in management and quality, earning the honor of the award. Additionally, "Jatgoeul Hanwoo," Gapyeong County's representative Hanwoo brand, received the Brand Award for achieving the highest evaluation among participating brands in the province, thanks to the outstanding meat quality grade and performance of its cattle.
