Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 11 that it had held an opening ceremony for the water playground and barefoot Hwangto Trail in Busan 2nd Children's Park on August 9, officially launching their operation.
This project was promoted by Mayor Lee Gwonjae in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province and members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council from the People Power Party, by securing special adjustment grants from Gyeonggi Province.

The facility is equipped with a children's water play area (water depth of 30 cm), a water slide, a water drop feature, a simple shower booth, restrooms, and other amenities. There is also a rest area so that families can enjoy the facility together.
The water playground will be open until August 31. It will operate on both weekdays and weekends, except for Mondays, which are designated as closed days. The city has assigned safety personnel to the playground and replaces the pool water daily to ensure visitors can enjoy the facility safely.
The barefoot Hwangto Trail was created by remodeling an existing old walking path in the park area adjacent to the water playground, and it now stretches 100 meters. The trail is equipped with amenities such as a foot-washing station and shoe lockers.
Meanwhile, under its 8th popularly elected administration, Osan City has been continuously expanding water playgrounds, which previously existed only at three locations: Osan City Hall, Malgeumteo Park, and Jukmi Sports Park. So far, the city has newly established four additional water playgrounds: Osancheon Osaek Water Playground, Majungsup Park Water Playground, Araetteul Park Water Playground, and now Busan 2nd Children's Park Water Playground. Additional facilities are currently under construction in Cheongho-dong.
The barefoot walking trails are also operated at nine locations: Busan 2nd Children's Park, Dolmen Park, Jukmi Neighborhood Park, Wondong 1st Neighborhood Park, Yangsan Neighborhood Park, Oesammi Neighborhood Park, Samnam Forest Road Neighborhood Park, Gohyeon Children's Park, and Unam 1st Neighborhood Park. One more trail is planned for Cheongho-dong.
Detailed information about the water playground and Hwangto Trail can be found on the Osan City Hall website.
