Changwon Special City Invites You to Experience Van Gogh's Works with All Five Senses ... A Multisensory Journey
Second Changwon Academy Lecture to Be Held on the 21st
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will hold the second lecture of the "2025 Changwon Academy," aimed at enhancing citizens' intellectual growth and cultural sensitivity, at 3:00 p.m. on August 21 at the Seongsan Art Hall Small Theater.
This lecture, themed "Van Gogh, the Painter of the Brightest Passion," is designed to allow participants to experience Van Gogh's world of art through multiple senses, not just visual appreciation but also utilizing hearing and smell, so that his works can be experienced in a variety of sensory ways.
The lecture will be delivered by the art convergence team "Sensationism," which consists of docent Jung Woochul, one of Korea's leading art historians, pianist Min Sihu, and perfumer Noh Inho, who will present Van Gogh's works in a multidimensional manner.
Jung Sookyi, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, said, "We hope this lecture will be an opportunity for citizens to discover a new perspective that connects art and life, and we ask for your interest and participation."
Advance registration for the August Changwon Academy lecture is available free of charge from 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, through the Changwon City website (Citizen Participation - Application Submission). If the number of applicants does not reach capacity, attendees may enter on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the lecture.
