Gwangmyeong City Reports 96.4% Distribution Rate for Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons, Highest in Gyeonggi Province

Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 11 that the distribution rate of the livelihood recovery consumption coupons, which the government began providing on July 21, has reached 96.4%.

View original imageThe city explained that, according to Gyeonggi Province's daily situation report as of 6 p.m. on August 10, a total of 271,566 out of 281,674 eligible recipients in the city had received the consumption coupons. The city added that this is the highest rate among the 31 cities and counties in the province.
The city cited the rapid formation of a dedicated task force team and the operation of a call center, enabling swift response to residents' inquiries, as key factors behind the high distribution rate. The city also analyzed that its experience earlier this year in distributing 100,000 won in Gwangmyeong Sarang local currency to all citizens as a livelihood stabilization support fund contributed to the efficient process.
In particular, the city is operating a "visiting application" service for citizens who have difficulty applying online. Through this service, 154 people have received the consumption coupons.
