Sancheong County Operates Joint Design Task Force for Heavy Rain Damage Restoration
235.3 Billion Won Restoration Project to Be Carried Out Over 47 Days
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province will operate a Joint Design Task Force for 47 days, from August 11 to September 26, in response to the extreme heavy rainfall that began on July 16.
Through the operation of this Joint Design Task Force, the county plans to push forward with the restoration project in a systematic and swift manner, aligning with the timing of securing national and provincial funding. The total scale of restoration amounts to 634 cases, with a budget of 235.3 billion won.
The Joint Design Task Force will directly handle the entire restoration process, including surveying damaged facilities, detailed design, negotiations regarding land acquisition, and project commissioning. In particular, by operating the task force independently, the county aims to establish practical and sustainable restoration measures.
From the investigation and surveying stage, representatives of local residents and stakeholders (village heads, community leaders, affected farmers, and landowners) will visit the sites to gather opinions. As a result, the county also expects to save approximately 1.2 billion won in costs required for investigation, surveying, and detailed design.
