On July 29 around noon, Jang Jaewon stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death with a knife in Goejeong-dong, Daejeon, and then fled the scene. He was apprehended one day after the crime. Before being arrested by the police, he attempted to poison himself and received hospital treatment before being taken into custody.
