The police are currently conducting a search at the KSPO Dome, located in Songpa-gu, Seoul, after receiving a report that explosives had been planted at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena (KSPO Dome).
According to the Songpa Police Station on August 10, at approximately 1:45 p.m. that day, Korea Sports Industry Development received a fax claiming that explosives had been installed at the KSPO Dome and reported it to the police. Korea Sports Industry Development is the management authority of the Olympic KSPO Dome.
The fax stated, in both Korean and Japanese, "Multiple high-powered bombs have been installed in several locations within the KSPO Dome. The explosion times are from 4:43 p.m. to 8:10 p.m." The sender identified themselves as a lawyer.
The police were dispatched to the scene, evacuated the audience, and deployed the mobile patrol unit and the police special operations unit to conduct an explosive search for about two hours. No hazardous materials were found during the search, and no casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, Onehundred, the agency representing the group 'The Boyz,' who were scheduled to perform at the KSPO Dome at 4:00 p.m. that day, notified the audience that "the start of the performance will inevitably be delayed due to an inspection of the venue's internal facilities." The performance time was changed from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
