Buyeo to Invest 6 Billion Won in "Culture and Arts Education Complex Town"
Seocheon Expects Population Growth Through Rural Study Abroad Center
On August 7, the South Chungcheong Provincial Government announced that Buyeo County and Seocheon County have been selected for the "2025 Regional Development Project Contest" organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
This contest aims to increase the residential, visiting, and related populations by utilizing unique local resources, under the "Customized Regional Demand Support" category. Buyeo was selected in the general category, while Seocheon was chosen in the small-scale category. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will provide 2.5 billion won for the general category and 700 million won for the small-scale category.
Buyeo County plans to invest a total of 6 billion won from 2025 to 2027 to create the "Culture and Arts Education Complex Town Culture Park."
The park will feature complex cultural facilities such as a ground fountain, a nature playground, a children's garden, and a historical and cultural park. Through this project, Buyeo County expects to generate an economic ripple effect of 10.8 billion won and create 68 jobs, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
Seocheon County will invest 1 billion won from 2026 to 2028 in the "Masanmyeon Rural Study Abroad Community Center Construction Project."
The project will establish infrastructure such as a rural study abroad community center, a seed garden, and solar panel installations for residential housing. It will also operate settlement-type rural study abroad programs to promote the long-term settlement of migrants.
