The project selected this time aims to expand educational infrastructure in the western area and to resolve educational imbalances between the eastern and western areas. A new complex facility will be built on the site of Ganap Elementary School, with three stories above ground and a total floor area of 1,380 square meters. The facility will include an indoor sports facility, a regional childcare center, an edutech education center, an internationalization education center, and a youth shelter.
The city especially plans to establish customized educational spaces for each stage of growth from early childhood to adolescence, in connection with the Education Development Special Zone pilot project. The facility will include an indoor sports facility where young children can play freely, a regional childcare center for a safe care environment, an internationalization education center supporting multicultural children, an edutech education center providing a cutting-edge digital learning environment, and a youth shelter for career exploration.
Yangju City expects that such school complex facilities will help reduce educational disparities in the region in the future and contribute to building a regionally tailored educational ecosystem where the community, schools, and residents grow together.
