In particular, by simultaneously running "Pochun Camp," which involves private education experts, and "Edu Camp," which is led by local teachers, the city has responded to the needs of parents and students who wish to maximize the use of public education resources while also addressing the local reality of limited access to private education.
"Pochun Camp" features external instructors, including admissions experts from Seoul and self-directed learning mentors, providing students with high-quality learning content and consulting on career paths and university admissions.
Meanwhile, "Edu Camp" is operated by current local teachers, focusing on providing personalized learning support and helping students develop good study habits. The two camps serve complementary functions.
Through these camps, Pocheon City aims to minimize learning gaps that may occur during the vacation period and to promote a positive perception of attending local high schools, thereby implementing strategies to increase the local high school enrollment rate.
Baek Younghyeon, Mayor of Pocheon, emphasized, "This camp is a core program for a qualitative leap in the local educational ecosystem," adding, "We will ensure that students have equal access to high-quality educational opportunities."
