The audition was held for graduates of the Startup Academy, with a total of four teams participating. Ultimately, two teams?'Global Eco Farm Connect' and 'Halmae Jeongjimaru'?were selected as finalists.
The 'Global Eco Farm Connect' team, which was among the final selections, presented a business idea for manufacturing baby food for children from multicultural families. Since the baby food culture in Korea is unfamiliar to many multicultural families, they often face difficulties in ensuring balanced nutrition for their children. The team's innovative idea to provide healthy and diverse baby food to address this issue received high praise from the judges.
The 'Halmae Jeongjimaru' team, guided by the philosophy that "the best welfare for the elderly is providing jobs," devised a business to sell packaged Korean pancakes and homemade side dishes prepared by seniors. The team was highly evaluated for its plan to employ elderly residents in Guri City, thereby creating jobs for vulnerable groups and revitalizing the city's traditional markets.
The selected teams will participate in various programs, including customized consulting and support for promotion and marketing, according to the upcoming schedule. They are also expected to create social value through partnerships with the local community.
Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "This audition is more than just startup support; it is the starting point for solving community issues together and building a sustainable economic ecosystem. We will actively support the selected teams so that they can grow into leading social economy enterprises representing Guri City."
