Awards were presented to exemplary public officials who received government commendations, those recognized by Gyeonggi Province for their contributions to senior employment projects, citizens honored by the mayor for acts of kindness and exemplary citizenship, and those recognized for outstanding performance in the rapid execution of the 2025 first half-year budget. Mayor Lee Chungwoo congratulated the award recipients and expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the public officials who achieved these results.
Mayor Lee stated, "July was a challenging period as citizens' safety and property were threatened by the ongoing intense heatwave and unexpected heavy rains. However, thanks to proactive measures and thorough disaster prevention activities, we were able to avoid major damage." He added, "With nationwide heatwave advisories and heavy rains continuing, I ask that you prioritize the health and safety of our citizens by strengthening safety measures and focusing on proactive responses to ensure their protection."
