The Department of Architecture at Silla University (President: Heo Namsik) has received the highest grade, a "6-year accreditation," in the Architectural Education Accreditation by the Korea Architectural Accrediting Board (KAAB).
KAAB implements the Architectural Education Accreditation, an international standard certification system recommended by the International Union of Architects (UIA), with the aim of elevating the standard of domestic architectural education to an international level, fostering talent with global competitiveness, and ensuring seamless international mobility.
On August 6, Silla University announced that it had achieved the highest grade, "6-year accreditation," by fully meeting the accreditation criteria, which are divided into three categories, in the "Architectural Education Program Evaluation."
The accreditation inspection team highly praised the Department of Architecture at Silla University for its smooth communication culture between students and faculty, its improvement in the architectural application of digital technology, and the systematic nature of its cutting-edge computer education programs.
With this accreditation, graduates of Silla University's Department of Architecture can now obtain architect qualifications that are internationally recognized. In addition, in accordance with the Washington Accord and Canberra Accord, they can secure international competitiveness by having their academic credentials equally recognized overseas.
Baek Jiwoong, head of the Department of Architecture at Silla University, stated, "The dedication of our professors and the passion of our students have been officially recognized," and emphasized, "We will not be satisfied with this achievement and will do our best to provide an even higher level of architectural education."
