View original imageAccording to a report by Yonhap News on August 6, Jeon Hanyoung, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, has gained popularity by appearing in a challenge video produced to promote the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Food Security Ministerial Meeting, which will be held in Incheon on August 9 and 10. In the video, Jeon is dressed as "Abby," a member of the Lion Boys, a boy group featured in the Netflix animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters" (Kedeheon), and participates in the Soda Pop Challenge.
On August 5, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs uploaded the Soda Pop Challenge video to its YouTube channel to promote the APEC Ministerial Meeting. As of 9:55 a.m. on August 6, 17 hours after the video was posted, it had garnered approximately 10,000 views and 208 likes.
The ministry stated that it produced this content to increase interest in the APEC Food Security Ministerial Meeting. The meeting will bring together representatives from 21 APEC member economies to discuss food security and innovation in agri-food systems in the Asia-Pacific region.
