Nongshim to Export Melon Kick to North America in $1 Million Deal
Plans to Expand Sales Channels and Export Destinations Including Amazon
7.2 Million Bags Sold in Just Three Months Since Launch
Nongshim announced on August 6 that it will export Melon Kick to North America (the United States and Canada). The initial shipment consists of 40,000 boxes (approximately $400,000), with a total export volume of 100,000 boxes (about $1 million).

According to Nongshim, Melon Kick has already secured placement primarily in Asian markets across North America, and the company is working to expand into major retailers such as Walmart and e-commerce platforms like Amazon. The North American export version features English-language packaging to improve accessibility for local consumers, and will be available in two sizes: 45g and 180g, tailored to local distribution preferences.
A Nongshim representative stated, "Strong global interest in Banana Kick is now spreading to Melon Kick, leading to export inquiries from various countries. We are currently working to export to a diverse range of markets, including Japan, China, Vietnam, and Chile."
Melon Kick ranked No. 1 in the snack category at major convenience stores and large supermarkets just nine days after its launch in April. Within three months of its release, cumulative sales surpassed 7.2 million bags, which is 20% higher than the 6 million bags sold in the first three months after the launch of Eomuktaekkang. Banana Kick has also become a must-buy souvenir for foreign tourists, with domestic sales rising about 30% year-on-year over the past three months and export value doubling during the same period.
Meanwhile, Melon Kick is a new addition to the Kick series, released by Nongshim nearly 50 years after the launch of Banana Kick in 1978. It combines Korean-grown muskmelon and milk to deliver the sweet flavor of melon.
