Pyeongtaek Plant Tour Route Selected as an Industrial Tourism Site by the Korea Tourism Organization
hy announced on August 6 that its factory tour program, 'hy Factory+', has been selected as a final participant in the '2025 New Industrial Tourism Development Project' (hereinafter referred to as New Industrial Tourism) organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.
'hy Factory+' is an industrial tourism site that showcases the fermented milk production process and has been recognized in the K-Food sector. The New Industrial Tourism project is a strategic initiative by the Korea Tourism Organization that aims to develop domestic industrial sites into tourism content to attract foreign tourists and promote overseas sales of domestic products.
'hy Factory+' is a tour route operated at the hy Pyeongtaek Plant. Since its launch in 2019, it has attracted more than 500,000 cumulative visitors, establishing itself as a representative tour model in the domestic food industry. Visitors can observe and experience the entire production process of probiotic beverages, including the recently launched sugar-free fermented milk 'Yakult XO', on site. A professional docent accompanies the tour, providing explanations tailored to the visitors' level of understanding, and the tour takes up to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Starting this month, content related to the 'LF-7 Process' will be incorporated into the tour course. LF-7 is a sugar-free fermentation process in which probiotics are cultured for seven days, consuming the natural sugars in the raw ingredients. It is one of hy's core technologies for producing probiotics with high intestinal survival rates.
In line with the selection for this project, hy plans to strengthen content that highlights the competitiveness of 'K-Probiotics'. The company will also prepare customized programs for overseas organizations and group visitors.
