Jo Kyuil, Mayor of Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, is drawing attention for his active efforts, visiting the Ministry of the Interior and Safety following the Ministry of Economy and Finance to ensure the smooth progress of key projects in Jinju.
During his visit on August 5, Mayor Jo first met with the Fiscal Policy Division of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, where he explained in detail the specifics and necessity of the Shinandong Multipurpose Sports Town Development Project, which has been submitted for the third regular central investment review. The Shinandong Multipurpose Sports Town Development Project is a long-awaited initiative for residents in the western area of Jinju, but the project has stalled at the investment review stage, which is a preliminary administrative procedure required for its implementation.

View original imageAccordingly, in a meeting with Ha Jongmok, Director-General of Local Finance, Mayor Jo emphasized that "this project is essential to address the longstanding wishes of local residents and to promote sports for all in the western region," explaining the justification for the project and requesting a positive review.
He then visited the Local Allocation Tax Division, where he highlighted the difficulties in local fiscal management due to a decrease in general allocation tax, a major financial resource for basic local governments. He also requested special allocation tax support for key local projects, including the expansion of Sangrakwon Park Golf Course and the widening and paving of Munsan Rido Routes 204 and 206 in the area of the Agricultural Technology Center.
