"Summer Means the Forest" Siheung City Offers Forest Education Programs
Offering Nature Workshop, Woodworking, Forest Experience, and Trekking Programs
On August 5, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will operate a variety of forest education programs during the summer vacation.
This program is centered around the Okgugongwon Forest Welfare Center and consists of several activities, including the Summer Special Nature Workshop Experience, the Okgumokgong Experience Center Woodworking Class, Forest Experience, and Neumnaegil Trekking.
Participants are engaging in hands-on activities at the Nature Workshop Experience held at the Forest Welfare Center in Okgu Park, Siheung. Provided by Siheung City
View original imageThe Nature Workshop Experience involves making items such as keychains and wreaths using natural materials collected from the forest. It will be held at the Forest Welfare Center until August 23.
At the Okgumokgong Experience Center, there will be eco-friendly woodworking activities using forest by-products. The program is open to participants ranging from elementary school students to adults. Activities include making bookshelves, trays, and sofa side tables.
There will also be the 'Neumnaegil Trekking' led by a professional forest trail guide, as well as forest activities at 'Soraesan Nolja Forest' and 'Jonam Forest Experience Center', where participants can experience nature within the city.
