Kibo Establishes "Carbon Neutrality Platform" to Support SME Carbon Emissions Management
Provision of Carbon Reduction Self-Diagnosis Service and More
On August 5, Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced that it has established a "Carbon Neutrality Platform" and officially launched its services.
Through this platform, Kibo provides a "Carbon Reduction Self-Diagnosis Service" that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in managing their carbon emissions, as well as a "Taxonomy Self-Diagnosis Service" that allows companies to easily check whether their business activities meet the criteria of the K-Taxonomy (Korean Green Classification System).
The Carbon Reduction Self-Diagnosis Service enables SMEs to enter their energy usage status and transition plans, directly assess their greenhouse gas emissions, and establish carbon reduction plans. By simulating projected carbon emissions and reduction effects, SMEs can specifically examine the feasibility of their reduction plans and enhance the effectiveness of their implementation.
The Taxonomy Self-Diagnosis Service is a system that allows companies to independently determine whether their economic activities comply with K-Taxonomy standards. This service operates in two ways: a "search type," which identifies compliance through product or business name searches, and a "selection type," which automatically provides matching results through step-by-step Q&A.
Kibo plans to use the self-diagnosis data submitted by companies to provide follow-up support, such as preferential guarantees and certification systems, for companies that reduce carbon emissions. In addition, Kibo aims to enhance the platform's capabilities to develop it into a specialized carbon assessment model and to connect with international standards by aligning with the European Union (EU) taxonomy, thereby strengthening the ability of domestic SMEs to respond to global environmental regulations.
