Gyeonggi Province to Inspect Construction Sites to Eradicate Substandard and Illegal Practices
Gyeonggi Province will begin on-site inspections of construction projects starting August 6 to eradicate substandard and illegal practices.
During this inspection, Gyeonggi Province will check whether 10 construction companies, which are carrying out construction projects commissioned by the province and public institutions, meet registration requirements. The inspection will also cover direct construction at the site, the deployment of construction engineers, and other violations of the Framework Act on the Construction Industry.
Gyeonggi Province plans to investigate all areas of construction projects, from the previous 'pre-bid public investigation' to the current 'on-site inspection of construction projects,' in order to prevent any substandard or illegal activities from taking root.
Kang Seongsup, Director of the Construction Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through continuous inspections of construction projects, we will do our utmost to eradicate chronic practices such as the lending of construction business registration certificates and licenses, so that sound companies can secure more contracts through fair opportunities."
