It aims to strengthen citizens' water safety capabilities and provide practical opportunities to obtain certification. By doing so, it seeks to enhance employment competitiveness and contribute to the establishment of a local community safety network.
The training will be conducted in cooperation with the Korea Swimming Pool Managers Association. Upon completion, participants can obtain a Level 2 Lifeguard Certificate. This certificate is a basic requirement for working as an indoor swimming pool lifeguard and is useful for citizens who wish to find employment in swimming pool-related fields.
The course consists of both theory and practical training, including theoretical education such as emergency response techniques including CPR, crisis response procedures, as well as practical training such as the use of rescue equipment and scenario-based situation drills. The practical evaluation for certification includes a 50-meter freestyle swim, a 50-meter breaststroke, and a 10-meter underwater swim.
In the previously held 1st and 2nd training programs, all 14 and 15 participants respectively obtained their certificates, achieving a 100% certification rate.
