The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education conducted a comprehensive evaluation based on six criteria: nutrition, hygiene, palatability, cost-effectiveness, and others. As a result, 14 schools were selected: Daecheong Elementary School, Seobyeon Elementary School, Seochon Elementary School, Yonggye Elementary School, Wolbae Elementary School, Hyomyeong Elementary School, Techno Elementary School, Namdong Elementary School, Sawol Elementary School, Waryong Middle School, Dongchon Middle School, Daegu Science and Technology High School, Irum High School, and Namyang School.
The selected schools will receive support of 1,200 won per student to provide special meals. In addition, each school meal staff member will be given an Onnuri gift certificate worth 100,000 won. The selection will also be reflected in eligibility for various training programs and awards conducted by the Office of Education. Furthermore, students, parents, and staff members who recommended the selected menus will be awarded an Onnuri gift certificate worth 50,000 won.
The menus from the outstanding schools will be produced as cooking videos and shared with all schools. They will also be registered as common menus in the NICE meal service system, so that other schools can utilize them when planning their own menus.
