Thai Insurance Commission: "Let's Learn Korea's Insurance AI and Data Innovation"
Visit of the Thai Office of Insurance Commission Delegation
Focus on Digital Transformation and Innovation in Korea's Insurance Industry
The Korea Insurance Development Institute announced on August 4 that a delegation composed of next-generation core managers (Team Top Gun) from the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) of Thailand made an official visit.
The OIC is an independent insurance supervisory body under the Thai Ministry of Finance, with a total staff of approximately 600. The 41 core managers, who are considered future leaders of the Thai insurance industry, visited Korea as part of a special overseas training program organized by the OIC.
On the afternoon of August 4, the Korea Insurance Development Institute welcomed the delegation and conducted training sessions focused on the digital transformation and innovation strategies of the Korean insurance industry. The program covered major areas of innovation, including the use of statistical infrastructure and big data, as well as process efficiency through artificial intelligence (AI).
Cooperation between the Korea Insurance Development Institute and Thailand has been strengthened through exchanges with the Thai Insurance Datanet (TID) and the Institute's ongoing training programs in Southeast Asia in recent years. This training, requested by the Office of Insurance Commission at the suggestion of TID, is expected to establish a foundation for practical cooperation with policy authorities and for the export of 'K-Insurance' infrastructure.
Mayurin Suttirattanapan, the head of the delegation, said, "Through this training, I was able to broaden my perspective on innovation in the insurance industry, particularly in terms of advanced statistical management techniques and the use of AI in Korea. I hope to continue sharing advanced experiences and know-how in various fields."
